Antibacterial activity of chitosans was assayed as
follows: chitosan solutions were prepared in 1% (v/v)
acetic acid at a concentration of 1% (w/v) before
being applied to broth and each solution was added
to Muller Hinton broth (MHB, Merck, Germany) or
MRS broth to give a final chitosan concentration
of 0.1% (w/v)
