Behavioral coping entails training your body to feel or release hormones and endorphins a certain way by making it a habit.
For example, if you know negative self-talk is not a good way to cope, teach yourself to stop by having a wrist band. Every time you catch yourself doing negative self-talk, strike your wrist band as hard as you can as punishment on yourself.
Then change what you stated to yourself in a positive manner, e.g. ‘some things are outside of my control and I have done the best I possibly could.’ Then give yourself a big smile. Your body will remember it.
