Many examples of simple truss bridge are spread across the United Stares.Some of these bridge are old steel bridges that are no longer in use.Although som of these bridges are now obsolete due to old age or because modern technology has outgrown them,many of these bridges still hold historical significance.
The Foxburg Bridge,located in Clarion County,Pennsylvania,is an example of on old-fashioned Warren truss steel bridge that was built in 1921.This 520-foot-long bridge is a uniquely built double-decker bridge.The railroad once ran on the top level while pedestrians,wagons,and cars could travel on the lower level.This twenty-foot-wide bridge crosses the Allegheny River
Another Pennsylvania truss bridge is the Venago Veterans Memorial Bridge located in Crawford Country.This Pratt truss bridge is called a "thru bridge" because steel trusses surround the roadway on all sides The wrought Tron Bridge Company built it in 1893.This bridge is 261 feet long and eighteen feet wide.It is closed to traffic and may be replaced by a modern bridge.
