2.7. Encapsulation efficiency
10 mg of dried microcapsules was weighted. Then, the micro-capsules were digested in 5 ml 2 M HCl, and 2 ml methanol wasadded. They were left in boiling water for 30 min, and then cen-trifuged at 3000 rpm for 10 min. The supernatant’s absorption wasread at 538 nm in a UV spectrophotometer. The main component ofcoriander essential oil (linalool, about 83%) taken into considerationto calculations. The released linalool concentration was calculatedusing the following equation, which was optimized for linalool byIndumathi, Durgadevi, Nithyavani and Gayathri [26]:
