The park is a must-see for all visitors, as it captures the essence of the Moldovan capital, a green city with large avenues. Though affected here and there by illegal constructions and too many terraces (corruption is plaguing Moldova, society), the park is the place to be for locals: brides come here to shoot their wedding album, there is a Hyde Park corner, kids play and elderly people read or speak to each other.
Free wifi is a bonus in the area. Major hotels, the country's main governmental agencies, museums, restaurants, the statue of prince Stefan cel Mare are surounding the park. For culture lovers, there is the Writers' alley, a gallery with busts of Romanian literature great figures. The square where the independence of the country was proclaimed and were all major protests take place is also adjacent to the park
