The present study demonstrated that the attenuation of oxidative
stress by BR and GBR supplementation, resulting from the enhanced
antioxidant effects in the blood, might be one of the
mechanisms contributing to the amelioration of atherosclerosis
in hyperlipidaemic rabbits. This study also suggests that brown
rice and germinated brown rice have potent protective effects
against stress-induced liver injury via antioxidant activities, as
shown by both in vivo and in vitro assays.
