Audit plan
The lead auditor should prepare an audit plan in consultation with the MD
and any audit team members. The plan should include, if applicable
a) the audit objectives and scope
b) the audit criteria
c) identification of the organizational units to be audited
d) identification of those elements of the EMS that are of high audit priority
e) the audit procedures to be used
f) identification of reference documents
g) the expected time and duration for major audit activities
h) the dates and places where the audit is to be conducted
i) identification of audit team members
j) the schedule of meetings to be held with management
k) confidentiality requirements
l) content, format, structure, expected date of issue and distribution of the
audit report
m) document retention requirements
