There are many, but here are few that are the top of my mind:
1. A good boss never imposes his will, but takes the decisions that are in the best interest of the team and organization.
2. Possesses a good emotional intelligence.
3. Stands by the team/individual in times of crisis. Never plays blame-games.
4. Is aware of strengths and weaknesses of each team member. Helps team-members with constructive, useful feedback (even if informal)
5. Is able to perceive negative emotions within the team and take corrective actions.
6. Is objective in viewpoints and un-biased in judgement.
7. Knows the bigger picture and can translate that into vision that inspires the team.
8. Is open to criticism, but not feeble to fall for prejudiced, politically motivated opinions.
