Functional parts usage in ANZ region also fluctuates since I have to take average value for my 3 ASPs who are still doing the repairs. To drive the functional parts usage down, you can follow below guidelines:
Please investigate technician repair skill/quality and ASP reporting skill.
For “Do not reuse this part” as mentioned in the Service Manual such as receiver or speaker which will need replacement when replacing LCM, the reporting rule should be R001 vs G103 or G103.1.
For all C parts (mylar, gaskets, sponge, tapes) makes sure your ASP uses R001 vs O04 for reporting.
Cross verification needed for the replaced components to make sure that it is really faulty.
When 2 or more functional parts needs to be replaced on the same job, can you get your ASP system to alert technician to cross verify the defective components.
Get your ASP to put a process flow in place that when a technician needs to replace more than 1 functional part on a job, they need to get approval from team leader/supervisor before closing the job. Supervisor will check technician repair skill.
ASP system shall also send out the alarm to management level when the parts usage rate is abnormally high for certain technicians. ASP needs to train technician so they can improve their repair skill.
Make sure your ASP will implement 100% Burn-In test for repaired devices.
All devices must be tested using our (BR – when applicable) & AS and logs submitted to HQ.
Let me know if there are any other concerns.
