The reusability of Fe3O4@SiO2@C18 magnetic sorbents for theextraction of target analytes was also investigated. The magneticsorbent was regenerated by washing twice with acetone, after eachadsorption–elution cycle. In such way, no carry-over of the analyteson the adsorbent was detected. The recoveries of OCPs and PCBsand hence the extraction capacity of the remained constant afterthree successive cycles, indicating good stability and reusability.After three cycles a graduate loss of the extraction efficiency wasobserved for all target analytes.
