Mahiru laid on his bed with his heart still pounding. His face was really hot but it wasn’t fever. It didn’t feel like sickness, it’s something else.
He overhears girls at class talking about things like this. All the symptoms are same as they describe them. So there’s no doubt. It’s too simple. How could he not see it before?
He has fallen in love with Kuro.
He felt like smiling widely like an idiot. Yes, this is what this feeling is. He finally understood it.
Now, what’s next? Confessing? Of course he has to confess now. But how? He has never been in love before. Maybe he should ask for help. But who could he ask? All the people he knows are weirdos. The only one he trusts fully is… Kuro. Maybe it’s better to do it himself.
Well, he could figure it out later. He is in love. Now is the time to just enjoy this new feeling. It started off as weird and uncomfortable. But now it feels right. It warms up his heart to feel like this.
Although he told Kuro he was tired, he was wide awake. Yeah, he wasn’t going to get any sleep for some hours. Thank God it is Friday night. He didn’t have to worry about anything else.

Kuro, laying on the couch, wasn’t having such a nice time like Mahiru. He couldn’t fall asleep. Kuro was used to staying up all night, talking to someone. Talking to Mahiru. Mostly listening to him talk.
He got up from the couch and open the window. He sat on the balcony, feeling the cool breeze and thought about when he first met Mahiru.
Hearing him talk was a pain. All he did was complain about how lazy his Servamp was. Now, he loved hearing him talk. He loved his voice, his laughter and Kuro felt happy every night he got to spend next to Mahiru.
'Ahh, been in love it’s such a pain…’ Kuro thought as a tint of pink colored his cheeks.
He had come to the conclusion that he was in love with his Eve not that long ago. He realized a couple months ago, when they were in the kitchen one night. Mahiru was making dinner and Kuro was sitting on the dinner table playing with his DS. While cooking, Mahiru was watching his favorite TV show.
When a funny scene came up, Mahiru let out a laugh and Kuro lifted his head to look at his Eve. Only to find the most precious view. It was that beautiful smile that kept making his heart skip a beat. This has been increasing over the past weeks and at this point Kuro knew he was head over heels for the brunette.
'Quiet nights like this one are really annoying without Mahiru.’ Kuro yawned, feeling sleepy and a little cold. 'I guess I’ll go to bed now.’
Kuro transformed into his cat form and walked to Mahiru’s bedroom. Like always the door was open, all he had to do was push it a little and he could pass through. Mahiru was soundly asleep with the covers up to his hips. Kuro blushed at the idea that crossed his mind.
'Mendokuse..’ He climbed Mahiru’s bed and gripped the covers with his mouth, pulling them so they could cover Mahiru’s body.
'It’s quite cold tonight.’ Kuro jumped down and laid down in his tiny bed. He gave one last glance at Mahiru’s face and finally fell asleep.
