› Laboratory Tests That May Be Ordered
• Blood tests may be performed 45 minutes to 2 hours after emergency treatment to look for elevated tryptase levels
(indicator of mast-cell activation) and specific IgE antibodies to identify the underlying cause of anaphylactic shock
• ABGs may be ordered to rule out dyspnea due to asthma or pulmonary embolus
• Blood glucose levels may be assessed to rule out hypoglycemia
