The group walks through the web site for each major task a user would perform, trying to touch on every page that will be commonly used (see Figure 12-2). For each task, the group steps through every page on a web site to experience every thing that a user would encounter.(A walkthrough of a paper mockup is not quite as thorough as a walkthrough of a live site, but follows the same basic approach.)
A group walkthrough is verysimilar to conducting a walkthrough in a focus group, except that a group walkthrough emphasizes design critique, and the participants include others besides potential users. As you gain experience with all the usability methods, you'll start to see that, like walkthrough and focus groups, they all relate to one another in a continuum of possible approaches, and you can blend methodologies to attack each specific design problem you encounter. There are several approaches to group walkthrough. Below are some of the approaches and some suggested possible participants.
