As you are all aware, we promote the sales and regular usage of PLPRO / PLVIS goalpost Challenge kits by our customers to verify their systems are operating within specification.
Under section 500 – Maintenance in the Process Pilot Systems manual, we state that the Challenge Kit Certificate of Calibration is valid for one year, and that we recommend they return the Challenge Fixtures to AGR for re-certification:
IMPORTANT: The Challenge Kit includes a Certificate of Calibration that is valid for one year. The
Challenge Fixture Kit should be returned to AGR annually for recertification.
All Sales and Service personnel should be advising the customers of the re-certification service and encouraging them to make use of the service on an annual basis.
NOTE: THIS INCLUDES THE CALIBRATION AND CHALLENGE KITS AT EACH OF THE AGR OFFICES. These fixtures need to be re-certified at AGR annually.
Also, the customers should be guided to put a process in place to challenge their systems at least monthly. If the system fails challenge, and they have properly cleaned the goalpost windows, they should be quoted a service visit by AGR’s Service group.
In support of the re-certification program, sales part numbers and selling prices have been established for all challenge fixtures currently available. (See the chart below) In addition, there a formal process has been established within AGR on how to handle a customer’s order for the re-certification of a Challenge Fixture. (See the attached ChallegeObjectRecertificationProcess document attached.)

As outlined in the procedure, once a P.O. is received by Orders for this service, a Call Center case is opened, and the GLB number is provided to the customer as the RMA number.
A new Calibration Certificate with the calibration values will be returned with the re-worked assembly to the customer.
