We continue to be safe but tense in Pokhara. Only one after shock in 12 hours so hopefully settling down some. Hearing of more devastation in other areas of Nepal, Langtang especially. Trekked the beautiful area 4 years ago and joey/Karla
Life work in that area. Very sad. Keep praying and thinking of the Nepali people, they are so dear to many of us. Kathmandu has become worse with water and food shortages, still sleeping outside and destroyed roads make it difficult to set up any good relief centers. I am continued to be told to stay put, offered help at one of the teaching hospitals- they need surgeons, ER MDs, etc which I am not. They r to call if needed. Less critical patients may come this way from near the epicenter, between Kathmandu and Pokhara. Sally Blair, Carolyn Wasielewski Labadorf, WendyValhoff, and myself will stay put and continue to offer any help we can. Extra meds and supplies were left in our villages at end of health camps . We will not attempt to move till our team is together again- Bob Blair and Gerald Quintanareturn from their trek - scheduled for 5/1. We are scheduled to leave Nepal 5/5th. Time will tell and direct us in what to do. Just feel so terribly sad for all of Nepal. If you want to give a tax deductible donation oneworldoneheart foundation.org......no overhead and joey/Karla will get the money to some international relief organization. Heart to Heart International, americares, MAP international, etc. Lots of Love and Hugs from the team.
