The most visited country in the world, by a long shot, and for good reason, France gets about 20 million (35%) more visitors annually than America and it’s just a tad smaller than Texas. What draws people? My own personal biases aside…France is amazing. The whole country. One of the things I’ve always loved about European countries is their diversity. How driving an hour in any direction gets you to a new part of the country with its own mini culture, its own customs, its own food, its own history, its distinct people. It blows my mind continually. From the legendary beautiful beaches in the south to Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the European Union, and the Alps, to the vineyards spread across the country, to the most beautiful city in the world, there’s something for everybody. How can there be so much diversity in a such a small place? I’m not sure what twist of geological tectonic plate shifting over billions of years put France where it is and gave it the natural resources that it has….but it’s truly blessed like nowhere else that I’ve ever been. And the wine….seriously…best in the world. - See more at: http://www.anewyorkertravels.com/my-10-favorite-countries/#sthash.uE1Wc95w.dpuf
