Setting:
David is standing on the sidewalk in front of the travel agency. He is looking at a map of Bangkok. Kit is standing in the door.
KIT: Hello sir! Where are you going?
DAVID: Good, because actually I’m getting bored just sitting around. People here seem to only like relaxing and sleeping, but I want to go out and see Bangkok. It takes so much time to travel here from England that I don’t have a lot of time to see things in Thailand. It seems like a lovely country, so I hope to see as much as I can before I return to England.
KIT: Yes, I think you’ll like it too. Tonight you should go to a pub. Bangkok has exciting nightlife. I think it’s very good fun for foreigners.
DAVID: Hmm, I don’t know… What else could I do?
KIT: You could go shopping, and also eat some good Thai food there. Bangkok has a lot of good malls, and they’re not expensive.
DAVID: Well, I’m not really interested in shopping, and I don’t like to eat spicy food like Thai people do. What about temples? I’d like to learn about Thai architecture.
KIT: Oh, Bangkok has many beautiful temples. Actually, some of them are very famous because they were built by the king or important people in Thai history.
