For plasma temperature estimation, spectra in the range 365
to 385 nm were selected and measured as no other transitions
overlapped in this wavelength range. The temperature measurement technique was based on the fact that the molecules distribute
themselves diffrently among the various rotational and vibrational energies based on the temperature of the molecules, and
the transitions corresponding to higher energy levels are more
intense at higher temperature. A spectrum was modeled using
software SPECAIR to calculate and fi the measured spectrum of
air plasma radiation (Laux et al., 2003) and then the gas temperature in the plasma was determined by the best-fi model spectrum
(Staack et al., 2006). In addition, the surface temperature of samples (growth medium and rice seeds) after non-thermal plasma
treatment was measured using the Fluke thermal imager.
