In this work, the color change range of methyl orange was
extending by using immobilization of this pH indicator on triacetylcellulose
membrane. For the first time immobilized methyl orange
on triacetylcellulose membrane was used as pH optical sensor. The
pH indicator was immobilized on triacetylcellulose membrane and
absorbance spectrum of this optical sensor was monitored at different
pH. Parameters affecting the performance of sensor, such as pH
of dye bonding to triacetylcellulose membrane and dye concentration
have been investigated and optimized
