Pech & Cameron (2006) examined entrepreneurial cognitions from an informationprocessing
approach and demonstrated how entrepreneurial needs, attitudes, and
motivations affect the diagnosis and assessment of information cues. According to
Hockey (1970) and Pech & Cameron (2006), a high need for achievement may
stimulate a sense of enthusiasm about a particular opportunity of which the
entrepreneur had become aware, and this enthusiasm would spark a desire for more
information. Dane & Pratt (2007) suggested that under certain conditions, intuition
might indeed facilitate rapid and effective decision-making in organizations. Jung
(1993), Westcott & Ranzoni (1963), Raidl & Lubart (2000-2001), and Dane & Pratt
(2007) refer to intuition as a process or a way of perceiving or sorting data.
