Apple has been made aware that fraudulent emails may be sent to GSX users requesting a GSX profile update. While the emails may appear to be from Apple, they are a "phishing" attempt for Apple ID or GSX credentials.
Please review Phishing" emails from suspicious sources, Safeguarding Apple ID and GSX account information and Identifying fraudulent "phishing" email in their entirety to help you recognize these emails. Should you receive one of these emails, please do not click on any link inside the email - alert Apple immediately.
Please follow these general security guidelines concerning your Apple ID and GSX account information:
Never click on any link from any email to reset passwords. If a link is supposed to take you to GSX, make sure to verify that the GSX log-in page or homepage is actually for GSX. Phishers have created elaborate websites that contain an attachment or links that look similar to GSX.
Double check your account status in GSX directly (gsx.apple.com) if you receive an email indicating that your GSX account has experienced some issues or is deactivated, and alert Apple immediately. Please do not click on any link inside the email.
Only access GSX using the address gsx.apple.com. Please enter this URL directly in your web browser rather than using links or saved links.
Only attempt to reset your account password through the URL addresses gsx.apple.com, appleid.apple.com, or iforgot.apple.com. Using any other URL could potentially be harmful.
As a reminder, GSX never requests that your Apple ID password be changed automatically. While it is beneficial for you to regularly change your Apple ID password, you should only use the URLs appleid.apple.com or iforgot.apple.com to update your password.
Apple will never ask for your password, either by email or over the phone. Do not disclose your password to anybody.
