Dear Asia team,
Thank you for your support and concern as to how we need to run Brentwood Asia profitably.
Sorry but I did not win this battle as management has decided to proceed with ordering the sheets from BE. The reason is so to give BE staff some work and keep them busy. On the other hand we do not want to exhaust our BA plant workers and hoping to keep their family’s happy with moderate over time work.
However the immediate plant is to increase the work load to 24 hrs a day with 5 days a week. So they still have some added overtime and improve production capacity by 25%.
In the future here are things we need to keep in mind and follow:
- Keep the bi-weekly sales/production meeting routinely. It’s Ty’s responsibility to keep this schedule open regardless if any of the sales staff will travel. If Ken travels and can’t attend I still would like to have the meeting with only Kanchanut and Sariwat to attend along with any of the sales staff that is available. If none of the sales staffs available then Pranisa can meet with the plant on our behalf and act on our behalf if there are any concerns. This information then be communicated to sales via email for appropriate actions after the meeting.
- Prior to meeting we need to run a backlog report by due dates and have it available to all the participants via email. Ty/Pranisa can one of you be one another back up for this function. We also need the plant to send us a schedule of their manufacturing schedule/back log.
Overall through this experience I feel that although we are performing well from the sales end but we need to be more pro-active in getting a little more involved with production and get them to work closer with us. Relying on production completely without double checking their work might not lead us to the same results that we are expecting for.
Keep up the good work team! We will come out stronger after this.
