Children’s Depression Inventory (CDI) measures depressive
symptoms in children ages 7e17 years. It contains 27 items, each
with a 3-point Likert-type scale (0 ¼ absence of symptom, 1 ¼
mild symptom, 2 ¼ definite symptom), that address a range of
depressive symptoms as indicated by five factors: Negative
Mood, Interpersonal Problems, Ineffectiveness, Anhedonia, and
Negative Self-Esteem. Internal consistency has been good, with
Cronbach’s alpha ranging from .71 to .86 [21].
