The effect of various injection frequencies on the
mixing quality of TBIM in terms of Mhf and Hm had been
studied in this research. A good mixing was that with Mhf
closed to Mch4.s and the best Hm at the same time, which was
shown by a single contour of Mch4 throughout the mixing region
during CFD simulation. Although the Hm was not improved
remarkably, the Mhf was, however, enhanced dramatically with
a varying injection frequency. The optimum injection
frequency for both Mhf and Hm throughout the case studies was
found to be at 4if. Future studies on the effect of other
parameters such as injection position, injection inclination
angle as well as crossflow of air into TBIM should be
conducted to further enhance the air-fuel mixing prior to
entering the engine
