Deviation costs are those resulting from not meeting the
requirements. Some deviation costs are incurred on the
project site due to scrap, rework, failure analysis, reinspection,
supplier error, or price reduction due to nonconformity.
Other deviation costs are incurred once the
owner takes possession of the constructed facility. These
include costs for adjustment of complaints, repair costs,
costs for handling and replacing rejected material, workmanship
or equipment costs for correcting errors, and
litigation costsf
