Rising demand for healthcare services boosted the wealth of Loo Choon Yong, chairman and cofounder of Raffles Medical Group, making him a billionaire for the first time. Shares of Raffles, which has 100 clinics in the city-state and 5 in Hong Kong and Shanghai, are up 18% since last year. Group is spending $222 million to expand Raffles Hospital. Also planning to build a 400-bed hospital in Shanghai with a local partner.
