1 Clear Health & Safety Management structure with defined roles and
responsibilities for safety
2 The operation must have a H&S improvement plan which is reviewed on a
regular basis
3 There must be clear rules and procedures established to control risk in work
tasks and work activities.
4 All relevant persons (including agency staff) should have received
appropriate H&S training aligned to the work tasks being performed.
5 A hazard and near miss reporting process must be in place to identify
issues and highlight actions required to rectify.
6 There must be an effective monitoring program in place to ensure safety
procedures are being complied with.
7 Risk Assessments must be in place to cover all activities associated with
the operation.
8 Regular checks must be in place to ensure compliance to legislation and
corporate standards. This could be in the form of local audits and
inspections
