As the first stage of our research efforts toward the
development of a new Web 2.0 course management
system of ED education, the authors proposed a
concept of a new course management system of ED
education. Important information obtained is as
follows:
(1) The proposed Web 2.0 course management system
will enable design teams to carry out their design
projects continuously so that their achievements will
be published, revised, exchanged, and shared on their
website without interruption.
(2) The system will enable instructors to visit the
project sites, review students’ achievements and give
relevant advice anytime.
(3) The system will enable design teams to backtrack
and improve their design accordingly.
(4) As the website will be open to public, it will be
feasible to exchange design achievements among
design teams. This will encourage a spirit of fair and
open competition among them.
(5) As the website will be equipped with a module to
support idea generation activities, such as
brainstorming and idea mapping, design teams will be
able to generate many viable and excellent design
solutions.
