Tida, thank you for collating the feedback from the participants of the workshop, it's greatly appreciated. Ian, thank you for dropping by and sharing the results with me. May I please share a few thoughts on the workshop based on the feedback:
1. Ian, the core of the workshop is the content and what you've shared with the students is what has made it successful. Thank you for your generosity on this. The participants have noted that they have learned a lot in terms of structure and what is needed in dissertation writing.
2. The participants have said they like the informal atmosphere in which we have conducted the workshop and that it has facilitated their reception of information. I think we've done this well and should continue such an atmosphere this Friday.
3. The participants have also noted they are either "Very Satisfied" or "Satisfied" with the overall experience, facility/venue, content of the workshop and dissemination of information. Based on this I think we have managed to find a structure that facilitates the learning experience of the students here at Mahidol.
4. The participants appreciated the examples we gave them during the different steps of the workshop. We should exploit this and show more examples to add to the learning experience of the participants.
The participants however have noted that they would like the following:
1. Sitting on the floor is uncomfortable for them. Would it be feasible and possible to move this Friday's workshop to Phyasathaban or Kanpai room? Tida, could you please check if either of these rooms are available just in case we decide to make such a change?
2. More time for discussion. Ian, could we re-arrange the timing a little so that we could allow the participants more discussion time?
One of the suggestions from the participants was that they wanted more time to develop an interesting research topic. Although I think this is best worked out between a student and their Main Supervisor, perhaps in future we may want to have a one-day seminar on some steps to developing an interesting research topic?
Thank you once again, and I'm looking forward to another successful workshop this Friday.
