Dear Site leaders,
As we are all aware P’Chanchai is gaining treatment and battling a terrible disease where we are thinking of him and his family. His retirement date of 31st Dec is drawing closer and we therefore do not expect to see him back at work unless of course he makes a speedy recovery and visiting us is part of his remedial activity and something he wants to enjoy.
I am therefore giving myself a promotion and strapping my tool belt on . As discussed with the engineering team yesterday I will be their main go to person until we recruit which will most likely be in January 2015.
Where I need immediate leadership support from you is to ensure when you request engineering help to drive safety/Continuous improvement projects we ensure the correct allocation of R&M activities VS Capital. I have optimized our R&M spend and reduced to levels that ensures we maintain our plant and equipment to maximum efficiency however puts restrictions on simply doing upgrades which fall under capital.
This does not mean we stop doing safety or continuous improvement activities… it means every day we are getting better and today we are cleaning up this process that will ensure we spend and allocate our money correctly whilst still getting the same improvement outcome.
