My fresh estimate for Malaysian palm oil production in calendar year 2016 is between 18.4 and 18.8 million tonnes. I have to give you a fairly broad range because the proportion of young new hybrid palms in Malaysia is increasing and we do not have enough reliable data on how well they perform. These new young hybrids are better able to withstand drought and are able to recover faster. We shall get to 18.7 or 18.8 mln mt if we get production in September, October and November in excess of 2 million tonnes each month.
