DISCUSSION
Average Values for Longevity Traits Length of PL and most survival traits included in this study indicate higher longevity and thereby lower replacement rate in organic production. This is in agreement with Reksen et al. (1999), Hardeng and Edge (2001), and Sundberg et al. (2009), whereas Bennedsgaard et al. (2003) and Fall et al. (2008a) found similar replacement rates in organic and conventional herds. The risk of being culled due to poor udder health was, however, greater for organically managed cows.
