I would like to say it all depends on what kind of life you prefer. People are always fond of changing and longing for something new happen. For those who live in city, life in village is attractive. On the contrary, life in prosperous city could be a paradise to some people who live in village. If you experienced both, you may get your own decision.
In terms of differences to life in village and in city, below are some I summarized according to my own experience.
Life in village:
1) Air is fresh, more closer to nature, environment is good(not true for all rural) . All of these could be a benefit to your health.
2) Pace of life is slow, you don't have to be pushed by life, therefore, you can have plenty of time to do things you like(premise is economic independence).
3) Life might not be so convenient, e.g. some places are not easy to find a supermarket/hospital easily.
4) As you mentioned, the education condition is not that good in rural places, your offsprings have to go far only if he/she wants to obtain a better education.
Life in city:
1) More pollution, more crowded, resulting in bad health.
2) Because of the pressure brought from work and life, you can hardly get time to think about your life and what you want. In a sense, you are just going through a life while not living a life.
3) You can always easily find people who share the same interests with you and life can be colorful if you enjoy it that way.
4) Life is convenient, take Taipei an instance, you can always find 24 hours convenient stores like 7-11 on the street, it can solve your urgent human needs no matter how late it is.
