Sanjay Kumar Pandey who has done MA from Gorakhapur University and Research on Buddhism and Ecology from BHU has urged people to follow the teachings of Buddha to conserve the ecology and protect the environment. He says, Buddha's teachings and lifestyle show the right direction to safeguard the ecology. He said that as per Buddhist scriptures, anger hatred and delusion among human beings have made an adverse impact on environment.
If we develop wholesome energies like love and compassion, it will create an environment in which all living beings can live happily, he said. Nowadays most of the ecological problems are arising due to violence. Buddha's teachings have established the fact that violence is the root cause of many problems. Peace can be established by following Buddha's teachings. He has prescribed sila,samadhi and panna as the paths to gradual purification.
