Agriculture is the major economic sector in Kenya, employing over 70% of the population and contributing about 25% of GDP. Kenya vision 2030 identified agriculture as one of the key sectors to deliver the 10% annual economic growth rate envisaged under the economic pillar. Therefore economic development hinges on an improvement in agricultural productivity which, in turn, hinges on the use of productivity-enhancing inputs such as fertilizers.
