As is well known that the essential condition for peritectic
reaction is the presence of three phases (i.e. primary
phase, peritectic phase and liquid phase) at the
triple junction [28]. This infers that a small amount of
the c phase must deposit on the pre-formed d phase before
peritectic reaction. Owing to the poor lattice match
between c (face centered cubic, fcc) and d (bcc), the
above deposition cannot occur freely [29]. The time for
the deposition can be defined as the incubation time s
for onset of the peritectic reaction.
