DGK-17 was isolated from Korean traditional fermented food
Kimchi which was brought from a local restaurant. After 16s rRNA
sequencing, phylogenetic tree was built by UPGMA method and
MEGA 4 software as shown in Fig. 1. The DGK-17 showed 100%
similarity with Lactobacillus plantarum WCFS1 (NR_075041.1). After
nutritional improvement, we again isolated DGK-17 from the
same yogurt and further experiment was performed, the strain
referred to as the nutritionally improved strain.
