Benzene was extracted from sorbent charcoal tube using
methanol (1 ml) with ultrasonication. The methanol extract
was analyzed by GC–MS technique. Instead of CS2, the
HPLC grade (99.9%) methanol was used for the isolation of
sample for avoiding extreme human toxic effect, lower flash
point (−34.4 ◦C) and lower ignition point (37.7 ◦C) of carbon
disulfide as compare to methanol
