3.4. Effects of POCS on TC and TG levels of rats
As shown in Fig. 2, the TC and TG levels of streptozotocininduced
diabetic rats (Group II) were 1.56 ± 0.15 and
3.16 ± 0.19 mM, respectively. By using dimethylbiguanide, the
average TC and TG levels of Group III were not significantly
(P < 0.05) lower than those of the control group. The POCS-treated
group of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats had significantly
(P < 0.05) lower TC level than normal rats (Group I) and control
group (Group II). However, no significant (P < 0.05) difference was
observed between the TG levels of Groups IV–VI and the control
group.
