In this study, new electrospun nanofibers composed of PCL and PEI
were produced to enhance uniform electrospinnability and hydrophilicity
of the PCL and resulted in structure properties, mechanical
properties, and biological activity. The diameters of the PCL/PEI
electrospun nanofibers ranged from 150.4±33 to 220.4±32 nm
without bead formation. The PCL/PEI electrospun nanofibers had
suitable mechanical properties, adequate porosity, hydrophilic surface
properties and biocompatibility. In particular, the PCL/PEI (20/1)
electrospun nanofibers showed suitable mechanical properties, good
cell adhesion. The results indicate that PCL/PEI electrospun nanofibers
will overcome the limits of PCL electrospun nanofibers through
blending with PEI and will be a potential scaffold for tissue
engineering applications and combined tissue engineering scaffold
