Total antioxidant capacity: The total antioxidant capacity
index was determined as described by Apak et al. (2004) with
some modifications. To 1 mL of CuCl2, 1 mL of neocuproine,
1 mL of NH4Ac and 1.1 mL of sample were added and mixed,
then incubated at room temperature for 1.5 h before measuring
the absorbance at 450 nm. Trolox was used as the standard
for a calibration curve and the results were expressed as g of
trolox equivalents per g of sample (g TE/g).
