Plastic packaging is widely used in different countries. Advantageously, plastics can keep food longer. The food are not wasted when it is compared to the one which is not wrapped with plastic. Furthermore, the plastics are recyclable and lighter so they require less energy for transportation than glass. They also require little energy to produce and they are often reused. Thus, plastic becomes an important element of the marketing as well. However, it may provide a way of thinking about questions of sustainability.
