The cape otway centre for conservation ecology is upheld internationally as an outstanding example of ecotourism. Based in Victoria, Australia the centre runs a number of environmental education programs based on experiential learning. Volunteers to the centre have the opportunity to get involved in a number of ongoing projects. These include planning and developing sustainable living strategies, conservation of the surrounding area and rehabilitating wildlife affected by bushfires, road accidents and illness. Guests have the opportunity to undertake a number of 'ecology experiences' which include guided tours of the surrounding area with an emphasis on the interpretation of native flora and fauna.
