Your mailbox has migrated to HP Inc.! Use the Power up the new HP tool to complete your PC migration.
As we prepare to separate into two companies, your email and PC will go through a migration. You are one of the first employees to migrate to HP Inc. and we look forward to hearing about your experience! Here is what to expect:
IMPORTANT: If you are unsure that you’re moving to HP Inc., please advise immediately and do not migrate your PC.
Before your PC migration day
ACTION:
• Get your HPI password: Enable your HP Inc. account and set your initial password. (If you experience issues getting your password, please enable Enterprise Mode.)
• IMPORTANT: You will use this new password exclusively moving forward. When prompted for HP credentials, enter your @hp.com email address and this new password.
• Reschedule your migration date: If your scheduled date does not work for you, you may reschedule now for a date that’s within two weeks from your scheduled date.
• Get your PC ready:
• Upgrade to Office 2013 (
• Remove McAfee Encryption and Migrate to BitLocker
• We recommend that you upgrade to Internet Explorer 11
• Wait to receive the PC migration tool prompts: Prompts to access the tool will only occur at your scheduled migration time, so please do not expect prompts or further action before then.
NOTE: If you have delegates, make sure you are scheduled to migrate at the same time – talk with your delegate and let us know (please include your preferred date to migrate, your email address and your delegate’s email address).
Your PC migration day
ACTION: The migration process could take up to one hour to complete. Please monitor your PC and remain connected to the network.
• Please print these instructions prior to migrating, as you will need to reboot your PC several times.
• Connect to HP LAN: When in the office, you must connect to the HP network via the LAN cable. Do not attempt migration through the HP wireless network.
• Watch for prompts to restart Outlook: Follow the prompt on your desktop and restart Outlook. This means your mailbox has been migrated!
• Update your mobile devices:
• Email account on mobile device: Recreate your email account to ensure mobile content is synced. Please use server outlook.office365.com.
• View the email migration checklist for all requirements and changes.
• Remove Afaria from your mobile device.
• Enter your credentials into Outlook when it restarts: Whenever you see a prompt, type in your email address and password.
• Migrate your PC: Accept the prompt to use the Power up the new HP tool to migrate your PC. You may choose to delay the PC migration, but please don’t delay too long!
• You will be prompted within the tool to enroll for a Virtual DigitalBadge, if you don’t have one already. ActivKeys will no longer be supported after migration.
INFORMATION:
• Your email address will stay the same and you will automatically have access to 50GB of mailbox data with Office 365 Exchange Online!
After PC migration
ACTION:
• Use your HP email address and password for logging in to SharePoint, Lync, and most other credential prompts.
• Logging in to process mailboxes: If you have issues with accessing process mailboxes, please review this article.
• Wireless: You will no longer have access to the hp corporate wifi network after migration. A new corporate wifi network, hpinc, will be enabled just for HPI employees at your site.
• Remote Access: DirectAccess will continue to be your primary remote access solution away from the office. Remote Access to HP will replace Pulse VPN.
• Migrate to OneDrive: Setup OneDrive for Business and then move your data, which will be stored in the cloud. Please migrate data after business hours, if possible. PC backup and DataDrive will no longer be available.
Please come see us during the migration event at your site, if you need additional support with this process. You will receive a detailed communication soon about the event at your site, if you haven’t already.
We value your input! Please provide us with feedback about your PC migration, so we can improve the experience for the rest of the company.
Thank you for your cooperation!
