Shopping Centre
The sound was immense, it was a blur of people speaking all at once. Peoples' coats rustled like leaves on an autumns day. The lights were blinding, they lit up the shopping centre. It was a cold and damp winters evening, people were barging and pushing each other to get the last things from the shelves; it was like cattle racing for their food. It was so crammed, the shopping centre didn't feel big anymore. There was a slight waft of dirty socks in the air and the squeaks of shoes on the wet floor pierced my ears.
The women was dressed smartly she looked like she had just finished work. she was wearing a suit and high heel shoes, they clip clopped when she trod. Her chest was rising quickly, her heart was hammering in her chest; as she strode around the shops, avoiding all the barging, bustling people. Her hair was neat and slick apart from the stray strand of hair that had escaped. Her eyes darted around looking for what she wanted, her hand bag was waking everything in it's path knocking her off balance. She was flustered, her face was becoming red and sticky as she continued to search the rails.
Her perfume was rich. Her necklace hung down the inside of her blouse, like she was hiding it. The gold chain glistened in the light. It was given to her by her ex-boyfriend, she reached for it and rolled it continuously through her fingers while deciphering over a dress, she quickly dropped it as she didn't want the memories to come flooding back.
