z A water proof sheet must be used to prevent the intermediate layers
providing HF insulation from becoming soaked if moisture / perspiration
etc. is expected.
z Absorbent sheets must be placed between the patient and the water proof
sheets in order to prevent any accumulation of moisture below the patient.
z Additional sheets are required in areas where perspiration level is more.
(e.g. between arms and torso, between the legs, below the breasts)
BIPOLAR HF SURGICAL TECHNIQUE
With the Bipolar surgical technique, the surgeon employs two similar active
electrodes, which are combined in a single instrument. Bipolar coagulation is
done with forceps. There are very fine high precision bipolar coagulation forceps
for microsurgery. During bipolar coagulation, HF current flows into the tissue via
one fang (arm) of the forceps and out of the tissue via the other fang (arm) of the
same forceps.
Bipolar Cut is possible using special Bipolar Cut instruments like Bipolar Needle / Bipolar Scissors.
For Bipolar usage modes, patient plate attachment to the patient is not required.
