Earlier today, we were informed by the South Korean ocean carrier Hanjin Shipping Co Ltd that they intend to file for court receivership after losing the support of their banks.
Whilst the overall situation is still developing, this will likely lead to disruptions for shipments in transit with Hanjin Shipping, and potentially its partners from the CKYHE Alliance.
We are monitoring the situation with Hanjin closely and have immediately triggered our contingency plan to protect the interests of all our customers and to ensure a regular flow of information for containers shipped with Hanjin Shipping. Our aim is to reduce potential supply chain disruptions to an absolute minimum.
If you have shipments on Pantainer bills of lading or waybills, which are directly affected, our local
Panalpina office will contact you in due course with detailed information on how to proceed.
Should you experience supply chain disruptions, Panalpina, as a non-vessel operating carrier
(NVOCC) with access to all major ocean carriers, can support you in finding alternative solutions.
We will continue to update you with further information as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your local Panalpina office, should you have any questions about Hanjin-related shipments.
