The purposes of this study are to investigate household participation in domestic waste
segregation in Klongjik Municipality, Bang Pa In, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, to study
relationship ofdifferent factors which affect household participation in waste segregation, and to
propose measures of household participation in domestic waste segregation. The data were
collected using survey and interview methods. The samples used in the study include 368
residents in Klongjik Municipality, Bang Pa In, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.Thesamples
were selected usinga quota sampling method, followed by an accidental sampling method. The
interview was carried out with officers of Klongjik Municipality Bang Pa In, Phra Nakhon Si
Ayutthaya Province in charge of public health and environment management. Descriptive
statistics used are frequency, percentage, and average and inferential statistics used are t-test, Ftest
and Chi-Squareat statisticalsignificance level of 0.05.
The results showed thatmore than half or 56.8% of the samples are female, 36.4% of
them are between 25-34 years old, followed by 35-44 years old for 29.9% of the respondents.
31.2% of the respondentsobtained a bachelor’s degree or higher, followed by secondary schoolfor
19.0% of the total. Besides, the survey reveals that more than half of them or 54.1% are
company’s employees and 20.1% of them are wage earners,respectively.For their level of
household participation in waste segregation, it was found at the middle level.
