Explain about monarchy of Thailand
Good morning ladies and gentlemen. First of all, let me thank you all for coming here today. For those of you who don’t know me. My name’s Suttida Aleesam. As you can see on the screen. Our topic today is Explain about monarchy of Thailand. My talk is particularly relevant to those of us who because it is related to the King of Thai country who we should know about. I’ve divided my presentation into three parts. I’ll start of by showing you some photos of the Royal Family of Thailand. Then I'll move on to the King and His People. I'll end with the Thai Concept of Kingship. My talk should take about 15 minutes. Please feel free to interrupt me at any time with questions. Oh, and don’t worry about taking notes. I’ll be handing out copies of the PowerPoint slides.
So,let me give you a brief overview of the Royal Family of Thailand. First person is her Majesty the Queen of Thailand. The second person is his Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn. The third person is Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Person number four is Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn. And the last person is Thanpuying Ubolratana Rajakanya
This now leads us to my next point. I'll talk to the King and His People. He is the first Thai King, and Thai individual who sees every single corner of his kingdom. He has visited far-reaching places, where there were no roads, he used helicopters. And where there were no place for helicopters to land, he went by jeep, horses as well as on foot. It is said that he is the only King in Thailand of both in the past or at present and most probably the future, to see every single square inch of his land. With his visits, he brought medical teams as well as surveyors to plan the connection of all towns and villages and a route to prosperity.
Let now then move to the next point. I'll talk about the King and His People. A King is the Father of the Land. It’s quite a simple concept, really. A father is expected to look after his children and give them the basic needs to live on, and provide good basic education for them, as foundation to make a living when they are grown up. The good children will then look after their father in old age, so that he will have a comfortable life after he retires.
As a final point. I’d like to run through the main points again. First I talked about the Royal Family of Thailand. Then I talked about the King and His People. Finally, I talked about the Thai Concept of Kingship. So, to conclude, what I'd like to suggest is if you should understand about the Royal Family of Thailand. And the content of it is available in many textbooks.
