Although not directly comparable, a note- worthy outcome from Doi and Amigo’s (2007) small study in Kuwait demonstrated that the more experienced nurses were more likely to wear gloves during phlebotomy pro- cedures. In contrast, the practice analyzed displayed the direct opposite of glove usage; the more experienced nurse chose not to wear gloves. This raises the question as to why; possibly ineffective staff IPC training, igno- rance to the value of current evidence.
